Corey loved life and was a friend to many. He worked in retail for many years and was great at what he did. He went to work for Walmart in 1996, starting at the loading dock and working in many departments before moving into management. He worked there for 18 1/2 years. After leaving there, he moved into a Night Shift Supervisor position for Target, and has worked there for the past 2 1/2 years where his reputation as a hard worker was well known by his co-workers.
Corey was preceded in death by his mom, Susan K. Levinson. He is survived by his true love of 21 years, Annie Torpen of Bakersfield. His father, Kenneth W. Powers and his step-mom, Jody Powers from Georgetown, Texas. His 2 brothers, Scott S. Powers from Dallas, Texas and Jeffrey A. Powers from Houston, Texas. His step-sister, Amy E. Kasper of San Antonio, Texas and step-brother, Cord A. Bowen from Salt Lake City, Utah and his uncle, Bruce L. Powers of Bakersfield.
Corey was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed by his family and many, many friends left behind. Corey’s memory will live on through each of them.
