

Don Edward Williams, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024, at the age of 90 in Bakersfield, CA. Born on August 20, 1933, in Kansas, Don was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Don was an outgoing and strong-willed individual, known for his outspoken nature and jack-of-all-trades skills. He was a natural leader and a dedicated family man. Don had a love for athletics and adventure, always seeking new challenges. A great accomplishment of Don’s was qualifying and competing in the Iron Man Triathlon in Hawaii in 1988. His hobbies included ham radio, triathlons, reading, computers, mountain biking, backpacking, and cross-country skiing. He also enjoyed RVing and exploring the great outdoors.
In his professional life, Don had a successful career as a PG&E Supervising Technician. He was highly skilled and respected in his field, leaving a lasting impact on those with whom he worked.
Don will be forever remembered and cherished by his surviving family members, including his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Stephen Griffith, his son and daughter-in-law, Don and Lucy Williams, and his grandchildren, Mike (Mandy) Griffith, Kim (Kris) Tiner, Jacqueline (James) Schwind, and Jennifer (Brad) Cordova. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Alina and Elise Tiner, Ofelia Cordova, and Barrett and Ella Schwind. Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Arlene Williams, and his parents, Floyd and Ruth Williams.
Don's life will be celebrated at Hillcrest Memorial in Bakersfield, CA, on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 10:00 am.
Don was a man who persevered even to his last breath. His legacy of strength, adventure, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
