Born Phyllis Donna Kay Prince in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She attended Arvin High School, and graduated in 1967. She married Thomas Ray Collins in Arvin California on July 7, 1968.
Donna worked as a cafeteria cook for the Arvin Union School District from October 1982 until she retired in November 2005. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 12, 2021 in Bakersfield, California. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Shirden and Tressie Prince; sister, Shirlet Prince, husband Thomas Collins; grandson, Allen Smith; brother-in-law, Rod Williams, and nephew, Greg Brown.
Donna is survived by three brothers and their wives: James and Helen Prince, Donald and Cathy Prince, Kevin and Lori Prince, and sister Pamela Williams. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, daughters Anita Scott-Foote, and Patricia Smith, four grandchildren and their spouses, Chelsie and Tyler Heidt, Ethan Smith, Zack Scott, Caleb and Savannah Smith, four great grandchildren Berkley and Roman Heidt, and Kai and Charles Smith.
Donna was a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Cousin, Aunt, Great Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Friend. She meant so much to all of us and will be dearly missed.
There is a visitation service scheduled for Friday, January 14, 2022 in the Vista Room from 1:00 - 2:00 PM and she will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hill of Valor, at 2 pm. Reverend Graham Bell will be presiding over the ceremony.
