Eddie Eckhart, 76 passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025. He lived his entire life in Bakersfield and was often described by family and friends as a “Gentle Giant;” a man who liked to laugh and be around others.
Eddie worked as a custodian at Thompson Jr. High School for approximately 12 years before retiring in 2009. He is survived by his sister, Diane Ogden; niece, Christina Burzlaff of Bakersfield; and nephew, Christopher Ogden of Harkema, the Netherlands. Eddie will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, located at 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306, United States. The service is scheduled for January 12, 2026, from 2:00 pm.
