Elsa Firra Lopez

Elsa Firra Lopez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in La Quinta, California, on September 26, 2024. Born on March 22, 1953, Elsa spent her early years in Bakersfield, CA, where she graduated from East Bakersfield High. Elsa lived a life marked by strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.

Elsa’s vibrant personality shone through in every aspect of her life. She was a music-loving “disco queen” at heart, lighting up the room and bringing joy and laughter to every gathering. Her beauty and intelligence left a lasting impression on those around her. Her hardworking nature and ability to remain positive while providing guidance earned her respect and admiration in her career as a Correctional Sergeant. She built lifelong friendships with colleagues, notably with Benigna and Lisa, who became like family to her. Upon retiring, Elsa moved to beautiful La Quinta, CA, where she continued to enjoy her life.

Elsa's life was a testament to her strength and love for her family and friends. Elsa is survived by her two sons, Jason and David; grandson, Blake; and siblings: Mary, Delores, Raul, Bobby, and Neoma. She was predeceased by her father Refugio, mother Guadalupe, sisters Petra and Carmen, brothers Rufus and Benny, and her loving partner, Chris.

In honoring and cherishing Elsa’s memory, let us carry forward her spirit of kindness, strength, and love. She will be missed dearly but forever remembered in our hearts.

A graveside service for Elsie will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Historic Union Cemetery, Crematory & Funeral Home, 730 Potomac Ave, Bakersfield, California 93307.
