Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Wyatt, the love of his life, and his older sister Esther (John) Gooding who he cherished. He was a proud and devoted father to his three children: Jason (Elyce) Wyatt, David (Shane) Wyatt, and Callee (Sean) Garner. He cherished his role as a grandfather to his 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, Larry served honorably in the United States Army from 1964 to 1968. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to others as a firefighter with the Kern County Fire Department.
Larry embraced life fully and found his greatest happiness in time spent with family. He enjoyed beach days exploring Pismo, kayaking the river in Avila, and deep-sea fishing off the coast of Morro Bay. He also loved golfing at courses throughout California, playing the guitar and bongo drums, and embarking on adventures such as the 150 km bike ride through Solvang in 1991.
He had a deep appreciation for music and never heard a Jimmy Buffet or Beatles song he didn't enjoy. He loved the Dodgers and created countless memories at the ballpark with all his favorite people. Larry was admired by many-known as a friend to everyone he met and a hero to those who knew him best. Though he will be deeply missed, Larry's legacy lives on through the love, memories, and lives of his family and friends.
