Gwenda Darleen Edwards

Gwen D. (Nagel) Edwards, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2014 from a massive cerebral hemorrhage, a complication of the chemotherapy treatment she was undergoing. Gwen was born in Fowler, CA on May 22, 1946 to Jesse (Jake) and Ruby Yancey, but lived most of her life in Bakersfield, CA. Graduating from East High, Class of 64, and went on to get her cosmetology license. She was an avid NASCAR fan (Go Harvick!) With the heart of a servant; always putting others needs before her own. She had a smile could light up a room. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gwen was preceded in death by her father Jake Yancey, her brother Dean Yancey, and her husband Don Edwards Sr. She is survived by her mother, Ruby Yancey; her children Wendy Van Vorhis (and spouse Tim), Sean Nagel (and spouse Jeff Sellers), Jenifer Edwards, Lori Johnson (and spouse Rick), Don Edwards Jr. (and spouse Natalie); Britt Edwards (and spouse Janna); and her grandchildren Jake Van Vorhis (and spouse Hailey); Conner Van Vorhis; Riley Van Vorhis; Mikayla Van Vorhis; Leiana Van Vorhis; Tayler Van Vorhis; Jeff Johnson (and spouse Camarin); Megan Phillips (and spouse Jeremy); Don Edwards III; Jacqi Edwards; Rae Edwards; Blake Edwards and Britt Edwards Jr. and many other loving family and friends.
