Jerry Jack Steers, Jr. (JR) of Bakersfield, CA passed away on July 14, 2023. Jerry was visited and comforted by friends and family at Hoffmann Hospice Home at the time of his passing. Jerry was 64 years old.
Jerry was born in Bakersfield, CA on March 6, 1959. He was the first son of Jerry and Donna Steers, Sr.
Jerry worked as an electrician and a cowboy; but his heart was always on the back of a horse as he called it riding through God's country, he loved sharing stories about his time on the ranch. While he was always an independent spirit, he became a bit of a social butterfly in his later years, and he was always eager to make new friends and swap stories.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry, and Donna Steers. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Margaret; daughters Brandi (Paul) Ball, Sherri (Joe Simao) Steers, and Tamara (Marvin) Devries;10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren with another one due in August; brother Richard (Noelle) Steers; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry's constant companion the past 2 years was his beloved dog "Scruffy" who never left his side.
Memorial services for Jerry will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
