A Great Mom

When we were kids, mom would hold a dandelion to our chins and told us if our chins turned yellow we loved butter and we believed it.

Mom took us to the Nile and Fox theaters, also the Crest Drive In.

Mom would take us to Bill Lees Chinese food when she could afford it.

Mom took us to the Kern County Fair every year.

Mom taught us to tie our shoes, dress  ourselves, comb our hair, and much, much more.

Mom taught us how to swim at public pools. The best place was Hart Park on the weekends.

Mom taught us how to BBQ the best food ever.

Mom made sure we had homemade cake for our birthdays.

Mom taught us to say prayers at all meals and bedtime.

Above all Mom made sure we went to church and understood what we were being taught. 

Mom we will always remember you for all these things and many more that you did out of love for all your children.

Heaven gained another Angel when the Good Lord called my mother in law home on Christmas Morn. She was a amazing person to know & to have in our lives. She'll be truly missed by us all even her 3 great grandbabies that never got a chance to meet her in person. But as they grow up they'll learn about how much of incredible woman she was. Rest Easy now Mom till we meet again

I Miss You Mom So Much. I am very Thankful and Grateful for me to call you my Mother. The little boy in me wishes his mommy would come back. I know that God has taken another Angel and I will never forget you Mother Thank you for never giving up on me . One day we will be together again.

I once had something special that money couldn't buy,

I wanted to thank the lord for allowing me to honor and  remember a remarkable and selfless woman, who just happens to be my mother.   My mother was a single  mother for pretty much all of my life and did a fantastic job at doing it.  Growing up on the East side of Bakersfield was very challenging.  It wasn’t until years later when I was in the Navy and raising my own family that I realized just how difficult it was to raise a family.  As I looked back on my childhood I was a happy child. As I really dissected my childhood, I realized we were relatively poor and depended on the state for assistance.  There were many times when we didn’t have much to eat and couldn’t afford the bare essentials.  But my mother always found a way.  There were so many things she was struggling with behind the scenes to keep her head above water.  As all of this was going on, I never once felt any of it.  Never felt I was poor, never felt I was lacking anything  at any time.  The reason why we never felt any of it, was because my mother protected us from all of it.  She was a filter, a sponge, and absorbed it all, the harshness, the pain, the defeat and when it came out  on the other side, it was in the form of positivity, love, gratitude, gratefulness, and happiness, and that allowed us kids to be kids and to  grow and flourish.  Those same attributes are ingrained into me to this day and a part of who I am as a man, father, and retired US Navy, Chief Warrant Officer.  She was and will always be my biggest supporter and number one fan.  She prayed for me daily  and I have no doubt she will continue to look down upon me from the skies above and continue to watch over me, my children, my family, and my friends as she always  has. So here’s to you mom…hand salute.🫡🦄until we meet again …I love you…🦋
