

He was 95.Kenneth was born Jesse Kenneth Dow in Bakersfield, CA on September 29, 1920.
He graduated with the Kern County High School Class of 1938. At 17, he began working for Cal
Water Service as a ditch digger, and retired as the District Manager of Visalia and Selma.
He married the love of his life, Rose Zey Kofahl on June 9, 1939. His marriage and career were
interrupted when he enlisted in the Navy during WWII. He served in the Pacific theater on the USS
Columbia as a radio operator and received an honorable discharge at the end of the war.
Kenneth was a devoted Christian and family man. He enjoyed animals, crocheting, sports and the
outdoors/camping. He was an expert horseman, and coached western horse drill teams as well as JBA baseball.
Kenneth is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Jeanette Dow; daughters-in-law Linda Dow
and Brenda Dow; and several loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife
Rose Zey; brother Norman; sons Edward and Paul; and daughters Kerry and Leann.
His family wants to thank the staffs at Hallmark Assisted Living and Optimal Hospice for the thoughtful and
excellent care they provided for Kenneth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kenneth's name to The Broom Tree
Refuge are appreciated. Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary: Visitation, Tuesday,
July 26, 4pm-8pm; and a graveside service on Wednesday, July 27, 10am.
