Linda Darnell Glass

December 7, 1941 – July 29, 2025

Linda was born in Tulare, California, the middle of three daughters to Dave and Wilma Byers. She graduated high school in 1960, attended beauty school, and married Rex Glass in 1961. The birth of her daughter Jodie in 1969 sparked a deeper faith in God—a faith that shaped the rest of her life.

Linda was a woman of grace and unshakable faith. She boldly shared God’s goodness with clients, strangers, and loved ones—often joking that they were her “captive audience.” Even in her final days, she witnessed to her caretakers, nurses, and doctors with the same boldness. Her final wish was simple: to reach one more non-believer before she passed.

Linda is survived by her loving husband Rex; daughter Jodie and son-in-law Don Peeler; grandchildren Kaitlin, Maci, and Ryan; sister Darlene; brother-in-law Connie Glass; favorite niece Tanya McCullough; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Wilma Byers, and her sister, Jean Abrahamson.

A visitation for Linda will be held Monday, August 11, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Valley Baptist Church Fruitvale Campus, 4800 Fruitvale Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93308.
