On December 21, 2021, Maria Alma Dominguez at the age of 68, passed away at her home after a long journey of battling Cancer. She was full of life and loved to dance. Maria Dominguez was born in Harlingen, Tx on June 17, 1953. Maria's family moved to Bakersfield when she was at the age of 5. She attended Longfellow Elementary, Washington Jr. High, and her Alma Mater Bakersfield High School. Maria was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Maria married Rudy A. Dominguez, and together they had 3 daughters Rona, Racquel, and Trudy. Maria worked in Banking most of career. She then left and began volunteering her time at the Kern County Food Bank. Eventually, Maria decided to begin to Interpret as an independent contractor for Dr. offices, DMV, and Kern County Court House.
Maria's battle with Cancer did not stop her. She was full of life. She would appreciate the fact the God gave her health to move around, clean, bake, and take care of her grandchildren. She would tell you how it is. She was truthful and let you know it. A quality we do not all have or too scared to say. Maria was known for making her Tamales during Christmas time, her potato salad at family functions, and menudo for that next day hangover. Something we will miss very dearly.
Mom is preceded in death by her mother Frances Cortez, husband Rudy A. Dominguez, and grandson Rudy Lopez. As well as many other family members who welcomed her with open arms.
Maria is survived by her loving companion Tony Juarez. Her daughters and favorite son-in-laws, Rona and Coby Williams, Racquel and Carlos Lopez, and Trudy Dominguez and Daniel Lee. Her grandchildren Charlie, Stephen, MaryJane, Arnez, Adam, Thorsten, and Zoey.
