Maria Elena Rios, a woman who dedicated her life to her loved ones in every way. She made holidays as special as they could be with her grandchildren running around. Even in her old age, she always remembered her grandchildren’s birthdays and endeavored to provide them with a gift of a special trinket with money wrapped inside. She always made sure her grandchildren felt loved.
She enjoyed dancing, going out on Saturday nights at the local Noa Noa, where she would dance the night away. She enjoyed doing crafts, quilting, crocheting, gardening and had a unique eye for collecting trinkets and treasures. She had over a thousand one-of-a-kind keychains and she loved thrifting and vintage collecting.
Maria was born in la cuidad de San Diego, in Chihuahua, Mexico. She came to the United States in 1978 with her family and began her life in Bakersfield, Ca. It was there that she created her legacy of 9 children, 33 grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren. She was always cared for and loved by her children and grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her daughter Lupita Salazar and son Raymundo Salazar.
She passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025 with her daughter by her side.
