Mary Ann Celedon

This world became a lot less bright on January 12, 2026, when Mary Ann Celedon entered eternal rest. Born on May 13, 1969, to Mary Ann Alire Celedon and Adolfo Celedon Sr., she lived a life defined by love, grace, and an unwavering devotion to her family. From her earliest days, Mary Ann embodied kindness, generosity, and a faith that guided every step of her journey. Her life was a testament to selflessness, compassion, and a heart that always sought to lift others.

Her tireless love and dedication to her parents ensured they always had everything they needed and wanted, and so much more, anticipating their comforts before they even asked. Her thoughtfulness, generosity, and constant care reflected the depth of her heart and the boundless love she carried for her family.

A proud Bakersfield native, Mary Ann attended College Heights Elementary, Washington Junior High, East Bakersfield High School, Lyles Beauty School, and Bakersfield College. She retired as a Switchboard Operator at the Control Tower of Bakersfield Meadows Field Airport, where she was beloved for her wake-up calls to Grandpa Adolf and the friendships she nurtured with care and laughter. Those she worked with remember her as a dependable and thoughtful friend whose bright personality and radiant spirit illuminated every room she entered.

Mary Ann’s spirit was welcoming and joyful. She made friends wherever she went and had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved. A giver by nature, she offered a listening ear, comfort, and encouragement to anyone in need. Always adorned in her signature pink lipstick and blush, she radiated grace and beauty. She cherished all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children, nurturing them with love that was boundless and unwavering. She never missed a birthday or special occasion, always ensuring that everyone felt remembered and cherished. To all who knew her, she was Nana, the anchor of the family and a source of unconditional love, joy, and comfort.

Mary Ann delighted in making every holiday magical, filling celebrations with thoughtful gifts and treats and leaving no one forgotten. She created memories filled with laughter, love, and sparkle. Her life will be celebrated during the month she cherished most, a month that mirrored the joy, beauty, and love she brought into every heart she touched.

Her faith in the Lord guided her through life’s challenges and triumphs. She carried herself with humility, grace, and a deep trust in God’s plan. Her home reflected her love and joy, filled with angels, butterflies, wind chimes, flowers, and everything that shimmered, symbols of her belief that love and light are eternal. Mary Ann inspired all who knew her to cherish every moment, give generously, and love without reservation.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love everlasting. Mary Ann’s spirit continues to shine brightly, a beacon of faith, laughter, and boundless love that will forever uplift the hearts of those who knew her.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father, Adolfo Celedon Sr., her beloved niece, Daisy Julie Ann Celedon, and dear baby Ball.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Alire Celedon; those she loved as her own, Ruben Guerrero Jr. and Dominic Guerrero; and Ella Guerrero, to whom she was a devoted Nana; her brothers, Adolfo Celedon Jr. and Nick Celedon, wife Delia Garcia Celedon; her sisters, Guadalupe Celedon Lozano, beloved husband Javier Lozano, and Lisa Celedon Arambula, husband Chris Arambula; her goddaughter, Angela Ball, and godson, Nick Celedon Jr.; her nephews, Adolf Celedon III, Lucas Celedon, Jimmy Gonzales, Chris Arambula, Ryan Arambula, and Blake Gorman; her nieces, Leah Camarena, Priscilla Celedon, Natalie Celedon, Valerie Cardenas, and Hannah Hinojosa; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Aubrey and Khloe Celedon, Mila Ann and Amelia Belle Camarena, Theo Gonzales, Easton and Capri Arredondo, Armindelle Garcia, Danali Hinojosa; and Olivia Gorman; and many family and friends whose lives she touched and who will miss her dearly.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held at St. Francis Church on February 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Mass services for Mary Ann will be held at on February 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church, followed by graveside services at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
