Maxine Virginia LaMott-Hubble

The youngest of 9 children, Maxine was born to James and Sheppie Reynolds on September 27, 1924, in Lost Hills, Ca. Maxine was a graduate of Lufkin’s Business College and worked for the Kern County Council office for 43 years.

Survived by her 2 loving children: son Steven, and daughter Cathy; grandchildren: Stephanie, Lisa, Jennifer, Christina, and Christopher; great grandchildren: Krista, Hailey, Cheyanne, Joshua, Kaleb, Luke, Jacob, Makynzie, Brinnleigh, Leighton, and Emerson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by the love of her life, Kenneth (Kenny) of 34 years; daughter-in-law Dixie; brothers: Clarence, Ray, Al, Lee, Eston, Elmo, and Ernie, sister: Emma and parents.

Maxine loved to travel with her second late husband Bill, across the country for his Navy reunions, and going to her second home in Pismo Beach, where she reminisced on her younger days spent on the beach clamming, riding 3 wheelers, and taking walks to the caves while finding things in the sand with her metal detector.

With the loving care and support provided by her daughter Cathy, and significant other Kelvin, Maxine was blessed to have celebrated her 100th birthday with her family. When asked the secret to her longevity, she answered: biscuits and gravy with a Smith’s chocolate donut, and a glass of milk, followed by a toothpick.

The family expresses the sincerest gratitude to the care team at Adventist Health Hospice for their phenomenal care and support they provided to her and her family.

Maxine was loved by all those who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Services for Maxine are as follows;

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.

A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.

A graveside will occur Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
