Michael Craig Stock

Michael passed peacefully to eternity with Christ on July 21, 2022 after a gradual decline in health.

Michael was born in Bakersfield, California to parents Roy Frank Stock, Jr. and Maxine Nichols Stock. He attended East Bakersfield High School, Bakersfield College, and served in the United States Navy in Vietnam aboard the guided missile destroyer, the USS Berkeley, DDG-15, in the Operations Intelligence Division. During 1968-1969, he helped calculate missile launches from the fire-control radar station for two, six-month tours in Vietnam and the South Pacific.

Once honorably discharged, he began a more than 35-year career in electronics and later computer sales.

He loved God, his family and country and was always there when you needed him. One of the highlights of his life was being a part of the Kern County Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C. in 2017.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Christine, and stepson Kenneth Tavis David.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Erica Stock Kent and son-in-law ,Gabriel. His kind stepson, Timothy Adams and daughter-in-law, Alissa and their two children, Ella and Jack. And Michael's former wife, Kimberly Stock. Others include Mike's brother, Randall Frank Stock, sister Darlene Stock Stotler and brother-in-law Dan. Nephew Jason Stotler and Patty, niece Jill Stotler Urmston and Nathan and great-nieces and great-nephews. And the best friend anyone could ever hope to have: Scott Tobias.

A special thank you to Hoffmann Hospice for their wonderful care of Michael in his final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hoffmann Hospice or Valley Baptist Church.

A Veteran graveside service will be held at the Bakersfield National Cemetery on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
