She was born on May 8, 1926 to Jose and Maria Chavez of Reedly, CA.
Sara was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 42 yrs, Robert Serrano, Sr.(1998) and son Robert Serrano Jr. (2018).
She is survived by her two dedicated and loving daughters, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law; Yolanda and Greg Delgado, and Amelia Padilla .
She was a loving Grandmother to her grandchildren Christine and Miguel Hernandez, Monica and Jimmy Leon, Gregory and Jessica Delgado, Michelle and Mark Tamayo, Phillip and April Padilla, Andrea and Tim Montoya, Anna Serrano, and John Serrano. Known to her 13 great-grandchildren as “GG”, “Weita” and “Grandma-mom”.Grandma was blessed with a wonderful memory and the ability to make everyone around her feel loved and special. Never did she forget birthdays or anniversaries. They were always greeted by a song on the phone or a hand written note in a card. Her love and pride for her family could be seen by all.
Sara was an active member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church for many years. Dedicated to praying the rosary every day, she was committed to pray for the sick of the parish. She also enjoyed learning and growing in her faith by belonging to various bible groups and attending countless retreats. Sara had a special group of friends. She would call them her “Sisters in Christ”. With these ladies, Sara was able to share her faith and love of her family with them.Sara also spent many years as a choir member of Grupo Paz Evangelizador. Sharing her beautiful gift of song.
Sara will always be remembered for her loving and kind-hearted demeanor, her wonderful cooking that always filled her house with the smell of home and her amazing family stories. She will be missed by her devoted family and her numerous friends.
