August 29, 1930 - April 24, 2024
Nick Bozanich, Jr., 93, passed away in his home in Delano, California, surrounded by
family. Born in Dinuba, California, Nick lived as a resident of Kern County for eighty-five years.
After completing his high school education, Nick, Jr. joined his family farming business, until he
was called to duty by the United States Army, where he served two years during the Korean War.
Wearing multiple hats throughout his lifetime, Nick's professions included table grape
grower,produce broker, owner/landlord of residential housing and, often times, self-proclaimed
building contractor. A man with few hobbies, Nick considered his Pismo Beach residence as his
private retreat.
Nick, Jr. was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Marianne Bozanich, sisters, Norine
Canata and Anne Summers, and twin brother, Pete Bozanich. Left behind to cherish his memory
are his loving spouse of sixty-four years, Lena (Zamberlin) Bozanich, and his four children:
Marianne Kovacevich (Kenneth, Jr.); Lucricia Chechak; Nick V. Bozanich (Kimberly); and
Vincent M. Bozanich (Elaine), along with six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial services include a Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial on
Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 12300 Reina
Road, Bakersfield, CA, followed by his entombment at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary,
Serenity Mausoleum, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA. In lieu of flowers, please
