Phyllis is predeceased by her parents, Owen and Birdie Walls, her siblings; Van Thompson, Melvin Walls, O.H. Walls, Thelma Simmons, and Lucretia Deligans, her children; Elizabeth Parmelee, Billy Smith Jr., and Robbie Gerrie.
Phyllis Smith is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Billy H. Smith Sr. They were married in Bakersfield, Ca. on May 5, 1945. They would have celebrated their 69th anniversary this year.
Phyllis is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and John Hilbert of Riverside, Ca., Curtis and Brenda McClenny, and Eleanor Smith of Bakersfield, Ca., and her nieces, nephews, grand, great grand, and great-great grandchildren.
Phyllis enjoyed traveling with her family, doll making, reading, and church.
The visitation and viewing will be held on Thursday April 10, 2014 between the hours of 4pm and 8pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, Ca. 93306.
Funeral services for Phyllis will be held Friday April 11, 2014 at 2pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, Ca. 93306. A reception will follow at same location
