Danny was born in Bakersfield, CA to Gilbert and Helen (Armijo) Gonzales. He attended local schools and graduated from East Bakersfield High in 1968. Danny served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war 1970-1972, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He proudly marched in the Veteran's Day Parade each year and carried the Vietnam Veteran's banner.
Danny loved the Raiders, music and antique cars, but most of all he loved his family and friends. He had a magnetic personality that drew people to him, and he became best friend (brother) to many. If you were one of those friends, you always knew you could count on Danny G to be there for you in good times and bad.
Danny is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Lisa), children Lissa, Eric, Stephanie, Denise, Danielle, stepson Richard and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Dickie Gonzales (Karen), Bob Martinez (Cecelia) and sister Madline Tello (Enrique). He was predeceased by his parents Gilbert and Helen.
Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA on Dec. 4, 2017 at 10:00am, reception to follow at the Eagles Hall, 1718 17" St., Bakersfield, CA. Private interment will take place at the Bakersfield National Cemetery at a later date.
