     As I followed your post on Facebook,my heart was so heavy for you both and your daughter.I can't imagine how hard this must have been for you all.And I pray everyday for Gods strength to get you through the day.We have never met any of you,but I know you are all awesome people.I want to say thank you to your son for stepping up to the plate and putting his time in service to protect our country.I'm sure his peers and buddies have lost a speacial friend too.

One of my fondest and last memories of you was when you were already in Apple Valley and I had moved to Sacramento. We were on the phone as always and your nephew wouldn't stop crying so I told you to sing him a lullabye and you had me sing to him instead. I must've sang twinkle twinkle little star about 20 times in a row until he was asleep. Then you told me you liked my voice, being a flirt as always hahaha. We never really hit it off in that way but it was always fun. I'll sure miss you Robby. I didn't realize how much you meant to me until you were gone. You were a great friend. Rawlins!! You were one crazy cat! I remember stumbling in your room one night drunker than a skunk with you laughing at me the whole time because my accent was so deep. But you were there when I left and told me that if I needed anything to call. You ARE a great friend and will forever be in my thoughts. I love you buddy. Save me a place up there so we can chill man. I miss you.

Robby I will miss you deeply. It seems like just yesterday we met but really it has been around 7 years since then. I remember all of our 2+ hour phone conversations we had every day, my dad always wondered how we had so much to talk about and it was simple, you were awesome, I always found it easy to talk to you. Out of all of the fights we had throughout the years (because God only knows how much you drove me crazy! But I loved every minute of it) they never lasted long, you were always very quick about making things right again. You hated when I was mad at you, and I hated when you were mad at me. I think our longest time staying mad at eachother was 10 minutes though haha Out of everything that I remember about you Robby, the thing that stands out to me the most is when you told me that you were in love with me and that you wanted me to move so we could be together and I told you it had to wait until I finished school, well I'm finished now and I'm not gunna be able to be with you. This hurts Babe. But not as bad as it would have hurt if we had never said how we felt. I will keep you in my heart forever My Marine. I love you, you are all I ever wanted too.

I will miss you forever. I remember putting a note on ur car telling you that i loved u like a little girl. i wouldn't let u read it until u left. i'm so glad i got the chance to be around u & have u be such a big part in my life. i look forward to seeing u again... on the other side.

You will always be remembered for your courage to serve our country...  I remember you as a little 8year old boy tagging along pleading to hang out with me and ash...  Lol...  Rip buddy..  It's not goodbye...  It's a see yah on the otherside bud!.  Praying for you guys ash!!.

I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and that we are sending lots of prayers out to you and your family.

Life sometimes hands us such sadness we think we will break under the  sheer weight of it.  Death reaches out to wrench from us our very hearts, but we must keep going.  There's no rest for this, no stopping. 

My children have been given the saddest of all tasks; losing a son.  My heart has broken watching them as they grieve his loss,  but the love they have for each other will help them endure it.  

My sweet Robby has touched so many lives and hearts.  He had so many wonderful friends who will keep his memory alive.  They'll relive the goofy things they did and treasure each joke, each moment of laughter a thousand times, repeated through time...  The young men and women with whom he served his country - his brothers and sisters at arms - they'll remember all of the days spent abroad in places they'll never forget nor want to return to.  Some will return willingly because they love this country and are so very willing to give it all they have, in some cases, their lives.   We honor you.

I was able to share some very special moments of time - too fleeting - with Robby a few months ago.  Just watching his expressions as he talked, the spark in his eyes, his willingness to share with me his thoughts as he talked about his future and which path he would take, and how much he loved being with "the guys."  Robby had an enormous capacity for love.  He was always prepared to give of it freely and without conditions.  That is a gift.  My grandson occupies a place in my heart that I will treasure as long as I walk this earth.

Here is a gift to all of you from the one who gives us peace:  "Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."  --- Hebrews 4:16

So sorry I can't be there for you all. Know my thoughts and prayers will be there with you. Love you all.

Son,

As I am constantly thinking of you many thoughts cross my mind, most of them good. I remember you being born and how proud your Mom and I were when you came in to this world. I remember the trials you put us through and how some times we wanted to ring your neck, but with those memories are the great times we had camping, riding bikes, you teaching me how terrible I as at roller blading. I remember you learning how to ride a bike, play baseball (Man you were such good Catcher), Football and Soccer. I am so very saddened that you are gone but know you are in heaven looking down over us. We were always proud of and when you joined the Marine Corps we were even more proud of you and seeing that you had become a man. I found the letter you wrote why you wanted to be a Marine and it made me realize how much you had matured. Just know this son, I have always been so proud of you and though you are gone from this earth you will never be forgotten...I LOVE YOU Buddy...Semper Fi!

You are now in heaven looking down on your wonderful parents you were blessed with.  I pray for them to get through this together in the most peaceful way. They were blessed with you too.

Thank you for your service to this great Country.  Your a Hero, and a great example for all young people.  You will be missed.  God Bless.

I just cant believe this is real, I cant imigine the pain any of you are going through.  I love you guys so much, Robby I am so glad I got to babysit you as a child, those memories still make me smile.  I am so proud of the man you had become and I know your parents and sister are too.  My only regret is that had been so long since we had seen each other.  I love you and we will see each other again.
