

LCpl Robert William Rawlins July 25, 1989 - May 21, 2011 LCpl Robert William Rawlins passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at approximately 2:25 p.m. from injuries he suffered in a motorcycle accident. He was 21 years old. Robert, "Robby", enlisted in the United States Marine Corps right after high school in August, 2007. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan with Truck 4 after concluding a tour in Iraq from April to October 2009. He was later stationed at 29 Palms, Ca. with the 1st TANK BN, 1st MARDIV. He is survived by his favorite family member, his faithful dog Dusty, his devoted and loving parents, Robert and Leah Rawlins, his sister Ashleigh Smith, brother-in-law Jim Smith, niece Ryleigh Smith, and nephew Dylan Lujan. He is also survived by great grandmothers Ruby Rawlins and Sallie Dawson, grandparents Wally and Hillary Bowden, grandmother Lillian Carter, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Douglas Dinkel, grandfathers, William C. Dawson and Robert Rawlins, great grandfathers, Robert L. Rawlins, Malcolm Dawson and Clayton Riddlebarger and great grandmother, Marian Riddlebarger. Robby was devoted to serving his country; he loved kids, his family, video games and guns. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. We look forward to seeing him in Heaven! PS: Robby, say "Hi," for us to your grandpas you finally got to meet...LOVE AND MISS YOU, SON...Semper Fi!
