Sharon Jean Holt

Sharon Jean (Rector) Holt was born in Bakersfield California on January 16th, 1944 and passed away surrounded by her Family on January 5*, 2022, only 11 short months after the death of her Husband of over 40 years, Earl "Ray* Holt on February 11h, 2021.

Sharon is preceded in death by parents Evonol and Margaret Rector and Sister Paula Johnson. Ray was preceded in death by parents Sherman and Dorothy Holt, Sister Shirley Holt and Daughter, Michele Smith.

Sharon and Ray are survived by Daughters Tami Holt (Cari), Jennifer LeRoy (Daniel), Jill Best, and Sharon's Sister Vickie Hagood. Grandchildren Corey Stephens, Dawn Stephens, Christina Miller, Jessica Congdon, Meagan Larson, Samantha Minor and Gracie LeRoy, 12 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild and numerous family and friends.

Sharon attended Aztec School and Graduated from North High School in 1961. She was an Executive Secretary until her retirement in the late 1980's from Occidental Petroleum when she and Ray decided to leave Bakersfield and make their home in Prospect Oregon.

Sharon and Ray had great love for their small community in Prospect where they were actively involved in their Church, community events and distributed food weekly to the community through the ACCESS program. They enjoyed attending the High School's sporting events when possible, even traveling to out of town games.

Sharon was a life-long member of the Assembly of God denomination and she loved the Lord with all her heart.

Ray and Sharon had a heart for Missions and were able to take trips to Mexico helping to build an orphanage.

Sharon taught Sunday School, lead the Children's Choir, was a Missions Secretary and sang in the choir for many years.

She was a member of the Harmonettes and the award winning Mello-tones Quartet. Ray was a General Contractor and was able to build anything. If there was a need at the church, he was the man to call. In their later years, Sharon would play the piano weekly for church and her and Ray would often sing specials together.

The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice for their care and support for not just Sharon but also her family.

A very special thank you to Daniel LeRoy and Kelly LeCain for their loving care of Sharon as she battled the final stages of Alzheimer's. Because of you, Mom was able to be surrounded by her family every single day. We are forever grateful and will cherish those memories always.

A graveside service for Sharon and Ray will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
