Steven Douglas Baker

Steven Baker passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2017. Born January 21, 1971, he was the youngest child of Darrow and Barbara Baker. He graduated from Highland High School in 1989. Steven was an avid Christian and a member of the local Free Will Baptist Church. He devoted his life professing his faith and leading his friends and strangers to Christ. In 2013, Steven found his dream career working in the renewable energy sector. Steve successfully passed all his tests and became a wind turbine mechanic. Steve was employed by Renewable Concepts and traveled the United States working in Texas, Pennsylvania, North Dakota, and Texas. Steve never met a stranger and made friends easily. He loved the mountains and spent most of his free time hiking and exploring.

Steve is preceded in death by his mother Barbara Morris Baker. He leaves behind his father Darrow Baker, brother Bill Baker, sisters Diane Gifford and Susan Fernberg; nephew David Lord, nieces Carly Gifford, Jennifer Mason, Lee Ann Fraymond, and CJ Fernberg, and great-nephew Zachary Mason.

Services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 2 pm at Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel with grave side services to follow.
