Thomas Gordon Jones

Thomas Gordon Jones 1917 - 2011 Gordon was born in Whitney, Texas to Jessie Leonard and Etter Jones he was the next oldest of seven children, all of whom have passed away. His family moved to Lamont, California in 1939 where he met and married Lucille Ward in May 1941. He went to work for Di Georgio Farms. He was the shop foreman for 29 years. He was layed off from Di Georgio and went to work for Kern Schools. He worked there for 14 years before retiring. He leaves behind his wife Lucille of 70 years, daughter Connie Gilmer and husband Joe of Spokane, Wa.; two grandsons, Brian Taylor and wife Paula and their children Kelsey and Blake; Jeff Taylor and wife Robin and their children Rob, Erika and Haley all of Spring Creek, Nv.; He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Gordon and Lucille attended Canyon Hills Assembly of God Church for over 20 years. Gordon had been ill for the last 2 years until his peaceful passing on Tuesday June 21, 2011. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 23rd, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary with funeral service on Friday, June 24th, at 10:00 a.m. Hillcrest Memorial Chapel service will conclude in chapel and Pastor Wendall Vinson will officiate.
