Tom was born September 19, 1930, to Ernest and Esther. Hedman in Newton, Kansas. At the age of seven, they moved to Bakersfield, California where he attended his school years and graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1948.
Tom was married to Lorene Nord of Rosedale California in 1951. They later moved to Fresno, where they raised three sons, Randall (Buck), Gregg and Blair. Tom started his own construction company, Hedman Construction, which allowed him to enjoy working with people for 50 years.
Upon retirement, he moved to Nipomo, California with his second wife Judy and enjoyed many years of coastal living. Eventually, he moved back to Fresno for the last four years to be closer to his family.
Throughout the years Tom enjoyed ballroom dancing, camping and fishing, and serving as a Boy Scout Scoutmaster. He was generous with his time and money, supporting missionary projects around the globe. From an early age he was active in church and was a Christ follower.
Tom is survived by his sons Randall (Buck) and Kristen, Gregg and Maria, and Blair and Rizza as well as six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Richard and Ellen, sisters Arveda Buller and Shirley Hirst and Paul as well as many nieces and nephews.
We thank our father for his guidance and love.
