

Triny Morrison, age 89 and a longtime Rosedale resident, passed away on December 17, 2017. She was born September 20, 1928, in Bartrdng, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Triny grew up in Luxembourg City with her parents, Misch and Ketty Neuser-Jengten, three sisters and one brother. In 1940, at age 12, the Nazis invaded the city and her family was forced to live under Nazi Occupation. Four years later, she met her future husband when the American soldiers liberated her city. In 1948, she sailed to America and married her World War II sweetheart "Frankie." She diligently studied the English language and the U.S. Constitution, becoming an American citizen in 1952. Triny worked many years as a teachers aide at Fruitvale Elementary School where all of her students loved her dearly. And, she faithfully served our veterans in the Rosedale VFW Post 10859 as a Charter Member with the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a "Poppy Lady" on Memorial Day and enjoyed attending her husband's military reunions.
Triny is survived by her son Edward (Sherrie) Morrison; her daughter Cathryn (Edward) Joiner; daughter Lisa (Cynthia Arburua) Morrison; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Frank, and grandson Daniel.
Catholic services will be held at St. Francis Church, 900 H Street, Bakersfield, on Friday, January 5th at 1:00 pm, followed by graveside services at Hillcrest Cemetery.
