

Vanessa Nicole Ruiz aka "Bean" was called home to her Lord and Savior January 17, 2018, with her family by her side. We welcomed our precious angel to our lives March 16, 1988. Vanessa is preceded in death by her sister, Laura Appodaca and grandparents, Petra Diaz, Carmen and John Anaya.
She is survived by her parents George and Ventura Ruiz and Grandfather, Eliseo Ruiz. Vanessa is lovingly remembered by her aunts and uncles, Irma Juarez, Mary Ruiz, Arturo Ruiz, Evelyn Anaya and Leo Parra, Eleanor and Bobby Lozano, and Juanita Vasquez; Godmother Sherri Parra; siblings Christina and Eric Wisdom, Raymond and Gina Appodaca, Larry Appodaca, Trina Appodaca, Dianna Parra, Laura and William Brandt; Nieces and Nephews Jasmine Sanchez, Nicholas Appodaca, and Brandy Macias, Mason Appodaca, Noah Appodaca, Shawn Appodaca, Christian Appodaca, Julian Gomez, Joseph and Ruth Espinoza, Lucinda Espinoza, Larissa Espinoza, Amanda Espinoza and numerous cousins.
Vanessa is a proud member of the Tejon Indian Tribe. Vanessa graduated from East Bakersfield High in 2006 and recently attended The Center for Creative Achievement in Bakersfield. Vanessa gave her soul to God and was baptized as a member of United in Christ Ministries by Pastors Eric and Vivian West.
Vanessa was a great mother to her baby dolls, Lillly and Samantha. Vanessa took Lilly with her everywhere. Vanessa loved to dance, draw and write stories. Vanessa loved her music, she could always be seen with her headphones dancing away. Vanessa loved the Harry Potter series both books and movies. If you ever sat at the dinner table with Vanessa, she would do funny snapchat pictures with you.
Vanessa was lovingly taken care of by her parents, George and Ventura who never left her side. They would especially like to thank her aunt, Juanita Vasquez, for being there to watch over her after school as well as her aunt and uncle Eleanor and Bobby Lozano for assisting when Vanessa was ill in Los Angeles.
We would also like to thank all who prayed for Vanessa. We are blessed to have loving family and friends. Vanessa was loved by all who knew her. The viewing will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Sunday the 28th from 5-9. The going home service will be Monday the 29th at 2pm, reception will follow at the Eagles Hall.
