Virginia DiGiacomo, 97 years old a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on February 4, 2024 in Bakersfield California. Virginia was born in November 20, 1926 in Sicily, Italy to Giuseppe and Rosaria Anello. Virginia married Silvio DiGiacomo after WWII in 1946. In 1947 they had their first child Maria, then moved to Buenos Aires Argentina, where second child was born Joseph in 1951 and in 1958 move to the United States and had their 3rd child Jacky in 1960. Yes, they were world travelers. Virginia’s education was only to the 5th grade, but she was fluent in Italian, Spanish and could speak and read English quite well. Her greatest achievements other than being the best mother and grandmother possible was her learning the English language, getting a drivers license and getting her US citizen ship in 2 years, after arriving in the USA all in the English language. Virginia is survived by her 3 children, Mary, Joseph and Jacky. 7 grandchildren, 6 great grand children in the US and 11 nieces and nephews in Italy. She was a very devoted wife and mother spoiling all of us. Her cooking and taking care of the household was exceptional. Her hobbies were sewing, loved fashion, dancing with her husband, going out ball room dancing, going to the operas and had an amazing green thumb especially growing flowers. She loved flowers especially pansies of all colors. She also loved traveling, visiting most of South America and Europe. Always traveling with her husband Silvio and her children.
