Virginia Rose Oliver

Virginia Oliver December 14, 1933 - March 15, 2012 Virginia passed away peacefully March 15, 2012 in Shafter, California. Virginia was born December 14, 1933 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She moved to California at the age of 6 years old. Virginia attended Bakersfield High School, where she graduated as Salutatorian in 1952. After graduating Virginia worked for 34 years at San Joaquin Grain Company. A loving wife and mother, Virginia treasured spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by both her family and loved ones. Virginia is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dale Oliver, and her mother Lottie Forshee. She is survived by 8 children. Daughter Shelley and husband Darrell Churchwell, daughter Regina and husband Gary Logan, son John Pipkins and wife Susan, daughter Roxanne and husband John Harter, daughter Terri Waldrop, daughter Tammi Oliver, son Dennis Oliver and partner James Garcia, stepson Gary Oliver and wife Vikki, and brother and sister-in-law Jack and E'von Wright, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 3 nephews. In honor of Virginia's life a graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 21st, 2012 at 11:00am at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd. Bakersfield, CA 93306. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Virginia's name to the A.D.A.K.C. (Alzheimer's Disease Association of Kern County). 5500 Olive Drive, Building #1, Bakersfield, CA 93308.
