

Zeferino "Chepo" Barron August 23, 1938 - December 20, 2011 Zeferino Garcia Barron, 73, of Bakersfield passed away on December 20, 2011. He was one of eleven siblings born in Tamos, Veracruz, on August 23, 1938. He immigrated to Brownsville Texas with his family in 1950 where he worked at the Rio Grande Nursery. In 1965 he came to Bakersfield as a migrant farm worker. In 1970 he became the Head Custodian for the Kern County Museum from which he retired after 25 years. He is survived by his children: Mariana and Arturo Desiderio, Arturo and Maricela Barron, Martin and Margarita Barron, Zeferino and Rosita Barron, Xavier and Monica Barron, Edwardo Barron; grandchildren: Arturo and Elizabeth Desiderio, Richard and Destinee Gutierrez, David and Crystal Lopez, Art and Kathy Barron, Anthony Barron, Josh Barron, Justin Barron, Nayely Villalobos, Erika Garza, Jacob Barron, Adriana Barron, Isaac Barron, Emilia Barron, Nathaniel Barron, Andrew Barron, Joseph Barron; and 10 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Arturo (Turi) Barron, Juan Barron, Vin (C?e) Barron, Manuel Barron, Jose (Pepe) Barron Jr., and Lilia Barron; many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 28, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd.
