Agustin Torrez

Agustin Torrez, age 96, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016. Born March 12, 1920, in Belen, NM to Melcor and Trinidad Torres. Agustin attended local schools before serving in the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, U.S. Army during World War II. He married Leonor Peralta on December 27, 1952, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, in Las Vegas, NV. They raised their six children in Barstow, CA. He retired as a packer from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Barstow.

Survived by his wife, Leonor Torrez, son John (Anita) Torrez of Colorado Springs, CO, daughters Sylvia Torrez of Barstow, CA, Cordelia (Mont) Peterson of Littleton, CO, Nanette (Bob) Breaux of Temple, TX, Teresa (Mike) Bray of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, sister Sophia (Callistro) Garcia of Albuquerque, NM, and preceded in death by his son, Albert Torrez.
