September 21, 1945 – July 29, 2025
Carol Lee Laney passed away peacefully at her home in Barstow on July 29, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on September 21, 1945, to Eloise Cope, Carol lived a life filled with creativity, warmth, and quiet strength.
A talented and passionate ceramic artist, Carol began crafting pieces at a young age, turning her home into a living gallery—walls adorned with her work, each piece sparking stories and admiration. She also had a lifelong love for sewing, and occasionally painting. Her hands were rarely still, always making something beautiful for those around her.
Carol was a vibrant, free-spirited soul, known for her friendliness and her love of the color green. She found joy in simple pleasures, especially reading. Her Bible was always nearby, and she had a deep appreciation for the Western novels of Louis L’Amour, which transported her to wide-open landscapes and timeless stories of courage.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Carol is survived by her sons, Marshal Laney Jr. and Ronnie Laney; her grandchildren, Dylan Laney and Samantha Hansen; and her great-grandchildren, Carden Laney, Alexandria Hansen, and soon-to-arrive Murphy Laney. She is also survived by many more dear friends and extended family who were touched by her warmth, creativity, and enduring spirit.
Service details and visiting hours are still being finalized and will be shared here soon. Carol will be laid to rest at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Louisiana, beside her beloved husband, Master Sergeant Marshal Laney Sr.
In the meantime, condolences, messages of support, and cherished memories of Carol may be shared through this website.
