Edward Otto Schneider

Edward Otto Schneider, age 89, of Yermo, CA, was called home to the Lord peacefully, surrounded by his wife and family on August 10, 2025. He was born on December 20, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He passed of natural causes, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and family.

He was the son of Oscar Joseph Schneider and Golda Marie Morack. He graduated from high school and went right into a career in the Army as a Demolition Expert — 23 years of service. Edward came home to Barstow, CA, where he worked at Valley Lumber and other local businesses before retirement. He was blessed to share many years with his first wife, Constance Belknap, until her passing in 1998. He later found love again and married Bonnie Lou Price (2000), with whom he shared great love the remainder of his life. He enjoyed volunteering at Barstow Community Hospital, cooking, and gardening. Those who knew him will remember his warm presence and welcoming heart.

He was preceded in death by Constance Belknap (late wife), James “Barry” Schneider (son), Ginger LuLee Ramirez (daughter), and Shey Wadsworth (daughter).

He is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie Lou Schneider, and his sister, Ruth Schneider; his beloved children, William Schneider (Susan), Robert Schneider (Diane- deceased), Raymond Schneider (Yvette), Cherrie Schneider, Benjamin Schneider (Kimberly), Barbara Anderson (Peter), Daniel Ramirez, Chad Wadsworth (Kelly), and Aaron Craig (Jaimie); his grandchildren, Christopher Schneider, Katrina Naples (Jay), Carol Schneider, Leticia Jara (Quintin), Matthew Schneider (Janelle), Erin-Michelle Mendoza (Stephon), Nathan Schneider, Michael Schneider, Morgan Anderson (Jackee), Caitlin Anderson (Brian), Dominick Camera, Adam Camera, Vandielou Gonzalez (Colinrae), Marcus McArthur (Breanna), Daniel Wadsworth, Kameron Wadsworth, Hannah Craig (13), Lilly Craig (10), Beck Craig (8), Charlotte Craig (6), and Jack Craig (1); his great-grandchildren, Caleb Pless (22), Marissa (18), Bella (14) Schneider, Joey (18), Lily (16) Naples, Payton (13), Asher (11), Isaac (angel), Lucas (7), Allison (6) Jara, Uriah (9), Faith (7), Lydia (6), Joshua (4) Schneider, Vincent Ortiz (19), Madalyn (13), Lennie (10) Mendoza, Liam (11), Aria (7) Anderson, Killian Anderson (10), Ivy (3), Leia (1 mo) Crumley, Natalie (13) Mariscal, Audrinna (11) Camera, Hudson (5), Oliver (angel), and Millie (4) Gonzalez, Marcus (14), Mason (11) McArthur.

The viewing, service, and celebration of life will be held at Barstow LDS Chapel, 2571 Barstow Rd., Barstow, CA 92311, on August 22, 2025, at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at Mt. View Memorial Park Cemetery, 37067 Irwin Rd., Barstow, CA 92311. A celebration of life will be held at Barstow LDS Chapel following the burial service.

Edward’s kindness, wisdom, sense of humor, and unwavering love leave an indelible mark on all who knew him. He now rests in peace, reunited with loved ones gone before him, and his light will continue to guide us in the days ahead. He will be deeply missed.
