Julia "Evelyn" Cost June 22, 1922 - December 25, 2014 Julia "Evelyn" Cost, 92, passed away on December 25. Evelyn was born in Grenada County, Mississippi on June 22, 1922. She moved to Barstow in 1953 with her husband and children. Evelyn, a strong, independent woman, was a homemaker, a teacher's aide, an AARP tax aide and a good friend and neighbor to many. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for 58 years. For many of those years, she was in charge of three generations of babies. Evelyn is survived by her children, Cathy (Barry) Lewis, John (Starla) Cost, James (Carol) Cost; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Stacy and Steve Depue. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Egbert J. Cost. Services will be held at First Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 6 at 11 a.m.
