Raymond San Millan

August 24, 1934 - July 12, 2016

Raymond San Millan, 81, of Helendale, passed away on July 12, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Barstow on August 24, 1934. He graduated from Barstow High School in 1953 and worked at Santa Fe Railroad for 43 years. He was preceded in death by his son Martin, parents John and Ines San Millan, brothers Bill and Amable, sisters Dolores Britz, Serafina Lo Presto, and Nona Bettencourt. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Margaret San Millan. Also survived by his daughters, Margie (Tim) Shea, Rhonda (Jacob) Zamora and son Tom (Pam) San Millan. Grandchildren Jim (Christie) Peel, Joel (Shannon) Peel, Courtney (Joshua) Munnell and Amber Harms, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his sister Jennie Most and brothers Arthur and Leroy. He had a great love for his family and enjoyed his Family Gathering Picnics, which he started, and looked forward to each summer in Tehachapi. He had a wonderful sense of humor and memories of growing up in Barstow. A graveside service will be held at Mt. View Cemetery on August 24th at 11:00am.
