Richard Charles Flores

Richard “Rick” Flores, age 77, passed away at home surrounded by family & friends in Barstow, California. He was a Brother, Father, Uncle, Cousin and a Friend. Rick graduated from Barstow High School in 1965 where he was a member of the Riffian Wrestling Team. Upon completion of High School, Rick joined the United States Navy & served two tours in the Vietnam War, where he was wounded in action while assigned to U.S. Navy Riverine Operations & awarded the Purple Heart. After completing his service in the Navy, Rick enrolled at San Bernardino Valley College & was a member of the wrestling team. Rick returned to Barstow & was employed by the Santa Fe railroad & he also coached wrestling at Barstow Community College.

Rick is survived by his Son’s, Lawrence Flores (Mickey) and Kory Chavez (Deliah) and Granddaughter Gracie, Brother Tommy Flores (Kit), Sisters Sylvia Sanchez and Laura Record (Roy) and Sonia Flores. Rick will be remembered by his Aunts, Cousins, Family & Friends. Rick is preceded in death by his parents Bobby Flores, Mac & Nora McClain, and Brother Robert Flores.

Rick was an avid reader who Loved wrestling, spending time with Family & Friends, UCLA Bruins sports & trips to State-Line & Laughlin, Nevada.

A religious ceremony for Richard will be held Monday, October 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 505 E Mountain View St, Barstow, CA 92311. A graveside will occur Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 11:15 AM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
