

Anita Mary MacDonald was born on April 28, 1925 in Asbestos, Quebec, Canada to Alexina and Hugh McGovern. She departed this life on Saturday, October 31, 2020 peacefully, in her bed at her home in Beaumont, California surrounded by family.
Anita was born and raised in Asbestos, Quebec, a farming community 50 miles east of Montreal, Quebec. She was the youngest of three children, Colleen, Lawrence and herself. After her high school years and as a young woman during the war years, she moved to Montreal to work for the phone company.
It was here in Montreal on August 31, 1946 Anita married Bernard A. MacDonald who had relocated to Montreal to work in a munitions factory during the war. During the next five years Anita and Bernie started a family with the birth of sons John and Bill.
In 1950, Anita and Bernie moved to Northern Ontario, Canada in pursuit of employment. They settled in the Sudbury, Ontario area where in the fifteen years that followed increased the size of the family with the birth of a daughter, Heather and son, Robert.
Then in 1965, tired of the cold weather, Anita and Bernie moved the family to Southern California, eventually locating to Beaumont, California where in 2007, Anita lost her husband of 65 years. Bernard A. MacDonald died on October 15, 2007.
Anita is survived by her four children, John, Bill, Heather, Robert and five grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren.
Family memorial services for Anita MacDonald will be held at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave., Beaumont, CA 92223 at 10:00AM November 5, 2020.
