Bernadine, known to her family and friends, as Deanne, was born March 28, 1927 in Ardmore, OK., to Hervey and Rose McDaniel. Deanne was the 7th of eleven children, 9 who grew to adulthood. She so loved her brothers, and one sister, and loved to share stories of growing up in Wolfe City, Tx.
Deanne was married at a young age to 2nd LT Howard Jung, a pilot who flew a B-17, on May 20, 1944. 10 short weeks later, he was killed in action on a mission over Germany. Deanne loved to tell the story of traveling to Howard’s hometown, and seeing many “firsts”; one of which was her first escalator!
Deanne traveled with her sister Ruth to California, mostly to help manage Ruth’s 3 sons on the long journey by Greyhound Bus. She found work at Pacific Telephone, and met, and then married William R Early, father of her two sons, Stephen and Leslie Early. This union ended in divorce, and after a brief stay in Texas, Deanne returned to California, and found employment at Keenan Pipe.
Deanne often told the story how she met, was wooed by, fell in love with, and married Chester H. Widmann, in 1968. Their loving union lasted 47 years, with anyone who knew and spent any time at all with Deanne and Chet, would eventually hear Chet’s favorite phrase: “My beautiful Deanne.” Into this family Chet brought 5 children, and Deanne brought 2. Many wonderful Thanksgivings, Christmases, golf gatherings, and other celebrations were always so very special at Deanne and Chet’s! Both Deanne and Chet strongly felt they were so blessed that God brought them together.
Those who preceded Deanne in death are her beloved husband Chet Widmann, her parents, 8 brothers, 1 sister, and her son Leslie Early. She is survived by her large blended family and friends, who will miss her strength, graciousness, laughter, and Southern Charm: her son, Stephen Early (Carolyn) Carmel Fleck (David), Dana Altiand (Andrew), Jeffrey Widmann (Thom), Jamie Horn (Gary), and Beth Mohan (Jerry), and her brother, James David McDaniel( M. Heather). Deanne is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
The Early and Widmann family and friends will celebrate Deanne’s life and faith at Weaver Mortuary, July 30th, at 11:00 am. Burial at Riverside Nat’l Cemetery to follow at 1:30 to 2:00 pm. Viewing will be from 4pm to 8 pm on July 29th, at Weaver Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wounded Warriors @woundedwarriorproject.org in Deanne’s honor.
Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, CA. 951-845-1141
