

Dr. Bert W. Young entered into eternal life on January 19, 2015, surrounded by his loving and dedicated family. He was born in Clifton, Arizona on January 8, 1917, to Richard Young, an Arizona lawman and Bertie Young an Apache housewife.
Bert was raised in California attending school in Torrance and Glendale. While attending Woodbury College in Hollywood, he met and married LaVona Starmer. Following graduation they moved to San Diego where he worked for Ryan Aircraft during World War II. Due to a family emergency, they relocated to Coffeyville, Kansas so Bert could assist with the family lumber business. Bert then went to Chiropractic College at Palmer in Davenport, Iowa. Upon graduation, he practiced in Watseka, Illinois. After a decade and a half, he moved to Beaumont, California where he practiced until his retirement. Bert spent his retirement traveling with his wife and enjoying the rural life in Cherry Valley.
Bert was preceded in death by his father Richard Young, his mother Bertie Young, sister Judith, son Bert W. Young, Jr and his wife and soul mate of 67 years LaVona Young.
Bert is survived by his daughter Dr. Jerilynn Kaibel and son in law John Massey, his son Dr. Richard Young and daughter in law Jill, granddaughters Stephanie McKiernan and Michelle Young, great granddaughter Cheyenne Young, nieces and nephews Shawn and Michelle Steel, Lynn and Sandi (Starmer) Davis, Bill and Pat Starmer, grand nieces and nephews Trevor and Jaime Starmer, Wolfgang and Cheyenne Klotz and Sioban Steel.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in his name to the San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital Foundation, 600 N. Highland Springs Avenue, Banning, California 92220 or Shriners Hospital, 3160 Geneva Street, Los Angeles, California 90022.
Memorial service Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 11:00am, at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California.
