

Bessie Reece passed away the morning of December 14, 2015, at the age of 81. She was born on January 22, 1934 in Colton, California. Bessie was a resident of Banning for the last 23 years and a resident of San Bernardino prior to that for 26 years. She was a graduate of Colton High School and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Cal State University San Bernardino. She was worked as a Teacher and School Administrator for the San Bernardino City Unified School District until she retired in 1994. In retirement, Bessie led an active lifestyle and enjoyed traveling, quilting, golf, reading and her biggest passion, photography. She was the Immediate Past President of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Redlands Branch. She was also a member of the Redlands Camera Club, Photo Artist Network, Rancho Cucamonga Photo Club and the Pass Patchers Quilters.
Bessie was beloved and cherished by her family, adored by her friends, and admired by her colleagues. Her quick wit, warm laugh, and wide smile were contagious! Thank you, Bessie, for the lasting difference you have made. Your loving example will remain indelibly etched in our lives - and in our hearts - forever!
Bessie is survived by her husband Jerry Reece of Banning, Ca., her son Marvin Reece of Roseville, Ca., her daughter Linda Isaacson of Folsom, Ca., her grandsons Aaron Reece of San Clemente, Ca. and Kurtis Reece of Roseville, Ca., her granddaughters Kris Rotge Of Bend, Or. and Stephanie Hunsinger of Tracy, Ca. and six great grand children.
Services for Bessie Reece are scheduled for December 19, 2015 at 2:30 pm at Weaver Mortuary 1177 Beaumont Ave., Beaumont, California.

The check should be made out to “AAUW Redlands” with the memo “Bessie Scholarship” written on the check. The Redlands Chapter annually grants scholarships to woman who had previously attended college, and are now completing an associate of bachelor degree. Bessie had been actively involved with the scholarship granting process for several years.
