Beverly Ann Hood

Beverly was born to parents Edward D. Rodgers and Ila Mae Rodgers on July 21st, 1934 in Sharon, PA. She grew up in PA until the age of 13. At that time, her family, including Grandparents, and Aunts and Uncles caravanned across the U.S. to Torrance, CA.

Beverly graduated from Torrance High School in 1952. She married the Love of her Life, John “Jack” Hood on March 7th, 1953. She gave birth to her first child, Timothy “Tim” Alan in 1955, her second child, Betsy Louise in 1958, and their youngest child, Carrie Mae in 1959. In 1963, the family moved from Torrance, CA to the up and coming “O.C” or Orange County. Bev and Jack purchased a home in Garden Grove where they would live until retirement. In 1989 they retired to their new home in Sun Lakes Country Club, Banning, CA. There they enjoyed many

activities such as Square Dancing, dining, golf cart parades, etc. In May of 2015 they moved to Corona, CA.

Beverly is survived by her son Timothy Hood of Tempe, Arizona, daughters Betsy Payne of Corona, California and Carrie Hood of Alpharetta, Georgia; five grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.

She is preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) F. Hood, her sister, Nancy Myerscough, and her brother, Thomas (Tom) Rodgers.

Beverly’s “Celebration of Life and Love” will take place on Monday, June 30th at 11:45am, at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518May 15, 2025.*Following services, family & friends are invited to the home of Betsy Payne, Corona, CA.
