Charles "Chuck" Little

Charles R. (Chuck) Little was called to his Heavenly home by his Lord and Savior on September 23, 2015 from his home in Banning, California at the age of 87 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Doris P. Little, one brother, Don Little of Capitola, California and two sons, Bob Little of Banning, California and Steve Little of Fresno, California. Chuck was grandfather to Jared, Bryan, Mark, John Orman and Page Little and great grandfather to Abigail, Jacob, Alianza and Kentyn.

Chuck Little was born on January 3, 1928 in Clarkson, Washington. He was raised in Helena, Montana and graduated high school in 1946. Upon graduation, he entered the U. S. Army to serve post World War II. Chuck left the Army at the rank of Sergeant and attended the University of Montana where he earned a BA degree in Business Management. He remained a lifelong fan of the University of Montana Grizzlies.

On June 10, 1950 Chuck married Doris Peterson. He was recalled to the Army during the Korean War and was stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey, California. Upon his second discharge from the service, he began his career in retail management with JC Penney. Chuck retired from JC Penney as manager of the Banning, California store in 1978. That year, he purchased the Hill Insurance Agency in Banning. California. Renamed the Little Insurance Agency, he worked there until 1990 when his son Bob took over the business.

Chuck and Dorie enjoyed an active retirement. They traveled and played golf and are residents and members of Sun Lakes in Banning, California. Besides following the Montana Grizzlies, Chuck was also an avid fan of the Anaheim Angels. Chuck worshiped at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Banning, California. Chuck enjoyed having coffee nearly every morning at Wing's Cafe as a part of the informal Banning Coffee Klatch. He was a Banning Lion for 25 years. Chuck was loved throughout his community and beyond.

Chuck's memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 11:00am, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1320 West Williams Street, Banning, California 92220.
