

world on February 21, 2012 to be with his heavenly Father. He is survived
by his wife of 20 years, Doris Boster, daughter, Dale Karen Van Nortwick
(Jennings) of Banning, CA, grand-daughter, Jennine Folkens(Scott) , of San
Bernardino, CA grandson, Kevin Van Nortwick of Winder, GA and 2 great-
grandchildren, Philip Folkens and Jessica Folkens. He has 2 living sisters,
Lucille Mc Cumber of Ohio and Lynn Ayres of Coronado Island, CA. He also has
many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel of 57
years, Son, Doug , 3 brothers, 2 sisters.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene for 68 years serving on the
Board of Trustees, teaching Sunday School and was a vital part in building a
new church building in Fostoria, Ohio volunteering 1,000 hrs of labor. This
was after work and on week-ends. He also built 4 homes and remodeled many.
He was an inspector for Union Carbide in Fostoria, OH and retired from the
LA School Dist. He enjoyed RVing and at age 87 drove to Alaska and has
visited most states. Dale believed in exercise and rode a bicycle over
50,000 miles. You would see him riding his bike at Sunrise Mobile Home Park
until he was 97 years old. When unable to ride outside, he had a stationary
bike that he would ride inside. After he moved to The Lakes, he stopped
riding his bicycle and started walking, even using his cane or walker.
Services were held Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at the Church of the Nazarene,
500 N. 8th St., Banning, California. Burial was at Westminster Memorial Park,
14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster, California.
Memorial donations can be made to the Church of the Nazarene, 500 N. 8th St,
Banning, CA or to American Cancer Society.
Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, California.
