

On June 24, 2016 Earth lost and Heaven gained a great man of God.
Donovan Henry Kramer was born on September 16, 1934, in Forest City, Iowa, a son of the late Frances and Henry Kramer. In addition to his parents Don was preceded in death by two sisters (Susie Thorne and Gloria Archer) and two brothers (Charles Kramer and Paul Kramer).
Don attended school through the eighth grade until he had to quit school to help run the family farm when his father became ill. The family later moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where he met and later married Esther Aretes Mays on February 9, 1957.
Don and Esther lived in the Waterloo and Cedar Falls, Iowa area for 13 years. During that time Don helped his father and brothers in the construction business. Also during this time 4 children were born.
In 1970 the family moved to Canon City, Colorado where they owned and operated Sunshine Carpet and Drapery. In 1981 they moved to Denver, Colorado where he worked in construction and also started Kramer Steamway, a carpet and upholstery cleaning business. Don and Esther moved to the Palm Desert, California area in 1987 where Don continued in construction. They moved to Banning, CA in 2009 where Don eventually retired in 2012.
Don was an active member of Mountain Avenue Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and was implemental in construction endeavors at the church and school.
Don is survived by the love of his life Esther Aretes Kramer, four children Cathy (Tim) Liles, Karen (Gary) Brown, Philip (Tami) Kramer, and Lowell (Stephanie) Kramer, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister (Pat Dreeseman), and one brother (Robert Kramer).
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain Avenue Baptist Church, 1325 Mountain Ave, Banning, CA, 92220. Pastor Richard Sydlowski will officiate. The funeral service will be preceded by a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A private burial service will take place immediately after at San Gorgonio Memorial Park.
