

EDWARD O. NUNEZ Age 83, resident of Fontana, CA for 1 years, passed away August 30, 2010. Edward was born September 9, 1926 in Santa Monica, California. He lived in the Pass Area for most of his life. He was a plumber for 65 years and served in the Army during WWII. After 1½ years of high school he enlisted, then later as an adult, through night school, got his diploma. He and Isabell were married at San Gorgonio Catholic Church 1947 (this was the name of Beaumont Catholic Church before becoming Blessed Kateri). He was a member of the San Gorgonio Council Knights of Columbus. He was a volunteer fireman in Beaumont for many years. Edward was employed with Homestead Supply in Yucca Valley for 15 years, then was a civil service employee (as a plumber) at Norton Air Force Base until his retirement. He volunteered at the Beaumont Catholic Church as a plumber, Religious Ed aide, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and Parish Council. He was a member of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church for over 63 years. He lived in the Beaumont area until entering a nursing home in 2009. Edward is survived by his wife, Isabell Chavez Nunez of San Bernardino, CA; sons, Monsignor Edward H. Nunez of Pueblo, CO and Jerry (Diane) Nunez of Beaumont, CA; grandchildren, Amado Nunez, Edward M. (Jayme) Nunez and Amarisa (Eduardo) Fuentes, all of Beaumont, CA; 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amado and Manuela Nunez and his brother, Jose Gonzalo Nunez. Visitation Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 5pm-8pm with 7pm Vigil at Weaver Mortuary Chapel, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, CA 92223. Mass Thursday, September 9, 2010, 10am at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, 1234 Palm Avenue, Beaumont, CA 92223. Burial to follow mass at 12 noon at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518, Staging Area #1.
