Estanislao Mendez-Lopez, 80, was born December 25, 1945, in Mexico City, Mexico, and peacefully passed into eternity on April 6, 2026. He spent his youth in Los Angeles, where he attended High School. He joined the Army at the early age of 17, which he credits for straightening him out. He proudly served for four years. Shortly after, he met the love of his life, Alejandra. Within just a few short months, they married and started their family. They settled in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, where they raised their four children. After Stan retired, they made their home in Beaumont, CA. They welcomed 13 beautiful grandchildren who were the joy of their later years. Along the way, he earned a reputation for being the kind of man you could count on—steady, honest, and devoted to his family.
From the beginning, Estanislao, or Stan as he was known to his family and friends, life was shaped by the bustle and closeness of a large family, coming from a household of 10 siblings. That early foundation seemed to follow him throughout his years: a deep sense of loyalty, a fun-loving spirit with others, and a work ethic that didn’t need to announce itself to be recognized.
He brought that hard-working spirit to a 30-year career with So Cal Gas Company, where he worked and later retired after decades of dependable service. The job may have been serious, but Stan knew how to keep life from getting too heavy—especially when there was a fairway to walk or a bowling lane calling his name.
He liked to play golf and was really good at it. Add in that he excelled at most sports he tried, and it’s safe to say he had a talent for making “just for fun” look impressively skilled. Still, what stood out most wasn’t the scorecard; it was the warm presence behind it all, the beloved steadiness of someone who showed up, cared deeply, and kept things simple and true.
Family was the most important to Stan. In the ways that matter most—through devotion, gentleness, and an honest heart—he leaves a legacy that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
