Born on June 2, 1949, in Villa Guerrero, Jalisco, Mexico, Eva grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico before moving to the United States in her 20's. Eva was known for her resilience, feistiness and determination as a single mother, traits that shone brightly as she raised her children in a home filled with chingadazos, stories and laughter. Eva always had a kind and huge heart. She had an open door to anyone that needed a place to stay, if you were hungry or not, she fed you. She would go above and beyond to make you comfortable. Blood or not she’d make you feel like you were part of her family. She was a single mother who always kept a roof over everyone’s head, food on the table and made people’s lives easier even during her own hardships. She always had a smile, would tell jokes, give you the shirt off her back but never mistake her kindness for weakness. Eva never took anything for free, never wanted to owe anyone, paid her dues, had a lot of pride but would give you all she had. She greatly loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her siblings, her son-in-law, both daughter-in-law’s, family, friends and time with roommates Michael and Tasha. She was a strong, beautiful, loved, well respected woman that many looked up to and she will always be remembered for all that she was.
Eva's career in retail allowed her to explore her passion for fashion, mastering the art of coordinating outfits, purses and shoes, always ensuring she was dressed to impress. Her personal interests included cooking, where she was famous for her delicious chilaquiles, enchiladas, carne de Puerco con Chile and more. She loved gardening, particularly tending to her beloved roses. Eva also found joy in music, dancing, going out to eat often sharing these moments with friends and family. She loved watching Telenovelas, action movies, spending time with her family and affectionately talking about her longtime love Tom Selleck. Her funny sayings in Spanish will always be remembered, used and laughed about for years to come. She will forever be deeply loved and missed by all who knew her dearly.
