

Col. Jack L. Hyslop, 80, passed away at his home in Sun Lakes Country Club, Banning, CA, March 12, 2011, from Lung Cancer. Jack was a native of Michigan and was born, September 21, 1930, in Highland Park, Michigan. He had lived in Banning for 19 years. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Jack served over 30 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was a Command Pilot and earned The Master Missileman Badge. During his service, he was stationed in Germany, France, Japan and Viet Nam, where he flew 130 Combat Missions in Southeast Asia. His many honors and decorations included the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Medal with 9 Oak Leaf Clusters. He retired from the Air Force in 1981 and was employed for 10 years by Textron Defense Systems as a Missile Systems Engineer. He was a Life Member of the Air Force Association and a member of the Retired Officers Association. He is survived by his wife, Shirley E.; his daugher, Caron R. Hill of Arizona; two sons, Stephen B. of California and David S. of New Jersey and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave, Beaumont, CA, on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at 2:00 PM. Burial at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA Memorials may be made to The American Lung Association or Companion Hospice of Riverside. Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, CA.
