

James Neil Berry, 84, a long-time resident of Worthington, passed away peacefully on February 11 in Beaumont, CA. Jim was born in Toledo, OH and is predeceased by his parents Ralph and Constance and his brother Ron.
Jim will be greatly missed by Joanne, his wife of 62 years, daughter Tammy of Beaumont, CA, son Mark and his wife Chris and their daughters Kate and Madeline of Woodinville, WA, sister Patricia and brother-in-law Tom Crane of Hilliard, OH, nieces and nephews Cheryl, Bill, Kelly, Courtney, Mike and their families, and many long-time friends.
Jim proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in electrical engineering, he worked as an engineer at several aviation companies, retiring from Rockwell International (now Boeing). He was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church for over 50 years and a member of York Golf Club and York Lodge #563 F & A.M.
From his days as captain of the Scott High School basketball team in Toledo, Jim was always a great athlete. An avid bowler and golfer, he accomplished the rare feat of five holes-in-one in golf and bowling a 300 game. He enjoyed watching and analyzing all sports; hockey was his favorite.
