Jessie Milne, age 88, of Banning, California passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, November 4, 2021, surrounded by her children. Born on April 11, 1933, in Comber, Northern Ireland, Jessie was the daughter of Robert “Rob” Wilson and Bessie Wilson, née Stockman. Jessie was a resident of Southern California for 49 years. She also lived briefly in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Jessie shared adventures on two continents with the love of her life John Milne. She and her beloved husband of 53 years met as pen pals while he served on a ship in the Royal Navy sailing the south seas. It was love at first letter… she had found her soul mate. Together they took joy on the dance floor and were known for their graceful ballroom waltz. A loving wife and devoted mother, Jessie was an accomplished cook and homemaker who loved to prepare delicious meals for family and friends. Taking great pride in raising six children, she made managing a household while also gainfully employed appear effortless. She excelled in her work as an environmental technician and cheered up the workplace at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana, CA. Jessie loved her family fiercely. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cherishing loved ones, indulging in a good meal with a glass of wine, a wee cuppa tea, and having an excellent time every day. Jessie was warmhearted, compassionate, charming, and witty. She always brought out the best in everyone she met. And even on her worst days, when asked how she was, with a twinkle in her dazzling blue eyes and a sparkle in her gorgeous smile, in her lovely Irish accent she was quick to reply, “I’m fine! I’m just fine. So I am!”
Jessie did not remarry after the death of her loving husband John Milne. He passed through the Pearly Gates before Jessie, on June 19, 2005. The family grieves her loss, yet they take comfort in knowing that Jessie and John are together again in heaven, dancing cheek to cheek. Besides her parents and siblings, Jessie was preceded to heaven by her eldest daughter Doreen Milne, three of her grandsons Justin Milne, Zack Urbanski and Sean Davis, and one of her wee great-grandsons Conner Jackson Wade.
Jessie Milne is dearly missed and survived by her children and large family.
